Happy Gifting’s Weblog

I’m away from my  super duper hubby and my lovely stamp collection, so I’m browsing and hoping to  stay in touch with my artistic side by viewing other people’s works.

I keep in touch with my  awesome group of demonstrators too!

Viewing Olga’s page led me to Dawn’s.  Looking more closely I saw something really neat and want to share it with you!

I’m sure there are tons of tutorials out there but this one  was really clear to me for turning brown paper lunch bags into little keepsakes:

Happy creating!

{June 12, 2008}   June stamp-a-stack

This looks really interesting!

Saying Goodbye- Escape-too

10 cards plus a box? for $25.

Double that for 20 cards & 2 boxes for $10 more at $35.

Thanks Olga!   Hope you feel better soon.

{June 5, 2008}   Good deals!

I’ve always enjoyed stamp-a-stacks.

You can’t beat this 10 for $10 deal by Megan Wheeler:

http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/megastamper/events?id=95304

I don’t know how much or if she’s willing to do class by mail kits though but most demonstrators are willing to send you the paper class starters everyone receives at the class in person for $5 shipping.  For additional $5 they may even stamp for you.  You’ll need to have the stamps, inks and punches at home though since most do come with embellishments.

Another one my pal Teresa has purchased for me is by Michelle’s:

http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/michellevanwiggeren/events?id=73062

She hostesses these 30 for $40 or 60 for $70 events quarterly.  Pictures are available in her creative projects page using the packets Tie the Knot or Summer Days Simply Scrappin’ for this round. =)

Have fun!

How neat is this???

…a program to encourage stamping – I’m in!

Summer Stamping Program – Win prizes for doing what you love.

Do you ever participate in your library’s Summer Reading program?  I sure do and  I love the fact that in the summer I can win prizes just for doing something I love doing anyway.  Well, I can recognize a good idea when I see one, so this summer I’m instituting a Summer Stamping Program where you can win prizes just for stamping!

How does it work?
1.  You have to e-mail me to register — you can’t win if you don’t let me know you want to play.   Just send an e-mail to stampwithdiane@comcast.net [mailto:stampwithdiane@comcast.net] with “I want to Play” in the subject line and your name and phone number in thebody of the e-mail.

2.  Each time you meet one of the raffle ticket criteria you must e-mail me to tell me about it. If you do not tell me you did something to earn a ticket, no ticket will be awarded.

Here are the ways you can earn raffle tickets:
A.  Stamp 3 cards or 2 scrapbook pages outside of one of my classes, workshops or kits and either show them to me in person or e-mail me pictures — 1 ticket (plus a bonus ticket if all items use only Stampin’ Up! products).
B.  Come to one of my classes or purchase a class kit by mail – 1 ticket per class
C.  Place an order of $25 or more outside of a club or a hostessed event (1 ticket for each $25 in purchases.)
D.  Refer a friend I have not met or dealt with in the past to take a class (1 ticket) or host a workshop (2 tickets).  You also get the stamps for these activities for free merchandise through my referral program.
E.  Host a workshop (3 tickets)

Tickets will be awarded starting now through the end of August.  At the end of August I will have a drawing for some fun Stampin’ Up! prizes.

So come on, you have nothing to lose.  Just register and remember to let me know each time you’ve earned a raffle ticket!

NOTE:  This program is open to anyone who has ever purchased Stampin’ Up! products or class kits from me or attended any of my stamping events.

Good Luck and happy stamping!”

Let the stampin’ fun began!

{May 8, 2008}   Book of Me by Diane

A while back, I searched online for a demonstrators near me but I went with a few who lived not so close to me.  They were offering classes that were interesting and at the right price:

I was confident that I had enough creative juices to adapt whatever project that they had going at their places at home by myself.  I certainly had enough stamp sets at home to easily replace whichever they had chosen.  That was the easy part.  I also liked the convenience of predesigned cards and embellishments.  All I needed to do is stamp, color and assemble.

The next few entries will detail my relationships with these awesome ladies.

Let’s start with Diane.

I thought scrapping was really neat so I signed up for Diane’s 12 month Book of Me:

{May 8, 2008}   Mother’s Day

holy moly!

It’s that time of the year already!?!

While I was designing Clean Slates I also made 2 Mother’s Day cards for Stacy.

Now if I can just get my batteries working I can upload all 10 pictures.

Can’t wait to play more with my stencils!

Wow, it’s really true once that you break that crazy cycle of negativity, you are open to a whole new world!!!

Guess who I pumped into?

Tonya

I didn’t even know she left me a message in my other blog when I didn’t have this one up.  So I’m sending good vibes and a RAK your way sweetie!  Shh, she doesn’t know because it’s a surprise – I didn’t know people were coming to my site and I don’t know the back office of wordpress nor blogspot so … it took me a while to realize she left me a message.

It’s midnight but that’s the witching hour when the creative juices flow.  Probably some hormonal thing from lack of sleep but shhhh…

No really, I’m up making cards anyways.  It’s a new program called “Clean Slates” honoring and thanking of Teachers.

Yup, you guessed it, I’ve been commissioned to make 8 Teacher’s thank you since it’s that time of the year.

I came up with the name also because they are dry-embossed with brass stencil on SU Whisper White.  I did use Fiskar’s border punches called Rope and Eyelet lace.

Oh, my!  Designing were so much fun but they are all white.  haha tempted to add color but I’m not.  I’ll be the first to keep it simple and one layer.  hehe..

What do you think of my calling them, “Clean Slates”?

My only thing is that it’s challenging to take pictures of them.  It turns out fuzzy.  Going to try scanning them.

Wish me best!

Guess what?!

Corris also made a commitment to pay it forward after she discovered it on IvyArts, who came by the idea at Anna’s:

It’s the Pay It Forward Exchange. It’s based of the concept of the movie “Pay it Forward” where acts or deeds of kindness are done without expecting something in return, just passing it on, with hope that the recipients of the acts of kindness are passed on. You all know I’m already a PIF type of person. So here’s how it works. I will make and send a handmade gift to the first 3 people who leave a comment to this post on my blog requesting to join this PIF exchange. I do not know what that gift will be yet, and it won’t be sent this month, probably not next month, but it will be sent (within 6 months) and that’s a promise! What YOU have to do in return, then, is pay it forward by making the same promise on your blog.

Well, I plan to be around for a while… my thoughts are if it works, why stop at 3?

I’m going to add to it by changing it to one random person every month will receive something from me.

Best to you!
